Holborn School of Motoring, or Scuola Guida Italiana as it is was first known was established in 1965 by two brothers, Valentino and Alessio Varani who have since sadly passed away. Their very first informal office was located in a cafe opposite St. Peter’s Italian Church on Clerkenwell Road, this is where the instructors would meet their pupils over a cup of tea before the driving lesson. A few years later an office at 178 Clerkenwell Road became available, it was less than a quarter of a mile away from the original “office” in the cafe. This is where we have been located ever since.
In 1974 younger brother Vittorio joined the partnership and was instrumental in keeping the business successful whilst always upholding the original values of teaching learners to become confident, responsible and safe drivers. In 1998 nephew Roberto joined the company and today oversees the business, maintaining all the standards and values held since 1965.
For more than fifty years Holborn School Of Motoring has continued to build and maintain an experienced team of top level DVSA approved instructors, some of whom have been with the school for more than 20 years.
